actually i also want to use chinese in this forum de
but if i use chinese,then there will be less information that i can provided
because it will take a long time for me to type in chinese
beside that,if i type in chinese,then it will have a lot of wrong words lo
1 chinese word meaning is a lots
later others peoples will misunderstand liao

it is impossible to fully translate our university name into chinese。anyway, i have few suggestion:
universiti teknikal malaysia melaka/univeristy technical malaysia melacca:

马六甲技术大学-similar to 沙巴/砂唠越大学------short form: 甲大-similar to沙大/砂大...............also can use 技大......no 1 cares about dropping the "melaka" word...............
i like the short form 甲大..coz 甲 means 第一...can use to represents the state too ...somemore it sounds better......makes utem stands out from the others
i check it out from the dictionary--甲:

or

still using the old name coz the name do not show much different between the the kolej/uni status at all:
大马技术大学-short form: 技大。。。。maybe can use 术大 too....personally, i think using 术大 is weird

or

甲州大马技术大学-short form: very easy.......can use any of it:甲大/技大
however,the starting word :甲州 of 甲州大马技术大学 is soooo unformal compare to 马六甲技术大学...........but the 大马 makes it more general and much more acceptable coz more national



*anyway, i prefer 甲大 as the short form

i think 马六甲大马技术大学 is good coz it is much more "original"(either translate from english or malay)......
name's too long?

其实关于这名字。。都是用大家比较common比较认识跟familiar的吧。。
所以就是用马六甲技术大学。。而且的确比较好记。。

如果direct translate就是马六甲大马技术大学。。
但。。会不会太长？其实只要大家都认识。。

然后会有人问，那Universiti teknikal malaysia melaka不就没有malaysia了咯？？
其实。。就好像Universiti Sains malaysia叫理科大学，UPM叫博特拉大学。。UMS。。沙巴大学。。
虽然都有马来西亚在里面。。但都通常都不被讲在称呼里面。。
**但在正式的跨国的。就必须要放大马。马来西亚拉。。

而“甲州”来讲。。其实我觉得马六甲会来的好听。。
